Micro AVIM™

Miniature interconnect for Harsh Environment

Born out of the Diamond Miniature Interface "DMI", the Micro AVIM™ is the smallest package connector delivering state-of-the-art performance in harsh environment. The similar thermal expansion properties between Titanium and Zirconia allow the temperature range supported by the Micro AVIM™ to be extended. In a similar manner, the other properties of Titanium allow to extend the vibration range and improve chemical resistance.

The use of the Active Core Alignment (ACA), a Diamond patented technology, allows to reach the best Insertion Loss (IL) and Return Loss (RL) performance for each type of connector.

For PM / PZ fibers, Diamond uses active orientation on the slow axis as default, the state-of-the-art measurement system at all wavelength from 400nm to 1700nm.

Optical Interfaces

DIAMOND supplies the Micro AVIM™ with all the various optical interfaces including:

• Polarization maintaining (PM) and polarizing (PZ)
• Singlemode (SM) for wavelengths from 400nm to several microns wavelength
• Power Solution for SM 1550 and 980 / 1060nm fibers and
• PM 1550 fibers
• all multimode (MM) fibers up to 800um cladding diameter.
